Ry is a South African-born composer, producer, songwriter and session musician based in London, with over 20 years of experience writing, performing, touring and recording everything from jazz, soul and afrobeat to punk, electronica and pop. Their composition work blends hybrid orchestral, cinematic, electronic and atmospheric music, with a strong focus on storytelling, mood and sonic world-building. Driven by a love for discovering unique sounds and textures, Ry approaches every project from a different conceptual lens - shaping music around the emotional, visual and narrative identity of the work itself. Ry holds a degree in Jazz from the South African College of Music and studied video game composition under BAFTA-winning composer Jason Graves.
